Brian Witt, 29 of Morrison, IL, is pleased to have joined his twin brother, Ben, as a Main Street businessman in Morrison, IL.  Brian began work as an Associate Attorney with Russell J. Holesinger, 105 E. Main Street, on September 12, 2016.  A fortuitous  “small town connection” brought about the position.

Ben Witt is a barber at 205 E. Main Street.  In August 2016, Holesinger went for a haircut for the first time at Ben’s shop.  He introduced himself as a Main Street attorney and stated he was looking for an Associate.

“My brother is an attorney,” replied Witt.  “I will let him know.”

On September 12, Brian started his job with Russell Holesinger.

Witt is a 2006 graduate of Clinton High School and a 2010 graduate of Iowa State University.  His major was Political Science with a History minor. He is a 2013 graduate of Northern Illinois University College of Law.

“I went to law school to help people with disabilities.  That’s why I went to [work for] the Chicago Housing Authority after law school.  CHA helps low-income individuals and has one of the largest number of landlords in the United States.”

“They have their own Fair Housing Department.  This ensures that the Authority is compliant with Federal laws relating to fair [non-discriminatory] housing [opportunities].”  Types of discrimination included race, religion, age, and physical disabilities.

He explained, “I primarily worked with people with disabilities, to determine their reasonable accommodations request.  I would respond to any fair housing complaint against the Chicago Housing Authority.”

“From the end of 2013 to mid-2016, I was a mediator.”

Witt worked three months in 2016 for the Rock Island, IL, Housing Authority.

Shortly after, thanks to a timely haircut, he became an Associate Attorney with Russell Holesinger in September.

Brian and Hailey Witt purchased a Morrison home in April 2017.  “I am only seven minutes from the office,” he said.  Hailey is a Research Attorney in the 3rd. District Appellate Court, in Ottawa, IL.  She has worked with all the judges during the last two years.

Witt is available at the Main Street, Morrison, office by calling 815-772-2164.
