William J. Roth, 82, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Javon Bea Hospital-Riverside in Rockford, IL.

Bill was born November 17, 1943, in Chicago, IL, to Walter C. and Grace H. (Kwosigroch) Roth.  He attended Catholic schools in the Chicagoland area, before serving in the United States Army.  On August 4, 1973, he married Linda I. Emerson, in Sterling, IL.  Bill was employed for many years at 3M in Cordova, IL, until his retirement in 2004.  Following retirement, he enjoyed spending more time doing the things he loved most.  He appreciated the outdoors, was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing.  Bill could often be found relaxing with a crossword puzzle, which he greatly enjoyed.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Roth of Morrison;  daughter, Suzanne (Chad) Peppers of Morrison; stepdaughters, Teresa (Terry) Schrader and Kimberly Pinkous both of Morrison; three grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica) Peppers, Ryan Peppers, and Nicole Winstead; six great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice (William) White of Michigan; brother, Robert (Sharon) Roth of Acworth, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded per Bill’s wish.

There will be no Visitation or Funeral service.

The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established.
