Senior Vice Commander Dennis VanZuiden of The American Legion Post 328 (on the right) received a 100% Membership Certificate from The American Legion National Commander, Brett P. Reistad.  Petty Officer USN VanZuiden was invited to The American Legion Post 589 in Warrenville, IL, to receive the Certificate from National Commander Reistad.

One of the many duties as the Senior Vice Commander is recruitment and retention of members.  VanZuiden has taken his job very seriously.  His efforts allowed Morrison Post to achieve 102% membership, exceeding our goal by two percent.

Through attrition and, sadly, death, retention is very difficult.  Sometimes a membership is lapsed.  That is why The American Legion Post 328 is always looking for eligible men and women to become members of the Morrison Post.

To be eligible for membership, a male or female must have served at least one day of Active Duty during specific dates.  Armed combat is not required.

You can meet Legion members during the Memorial Day ceremony, Monday, May 27, at Veterans Memorial Park in Grove Hill Cemetery.  Or attend a meeting to learn how current and past service members now serving the Morrison community.  The Post meets at 306 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  The upcoming meeting is June 9.
