On April 24, 2023, the City Council took action to support and direct its City Administrator to request [that] IDOT (Region 2) immediately reconsider U. S. Route 30 Improvements/Reconstruction in Morrison, IL.
Since then, the City Administrator has worked with IDOT, and the project was placed back into IDOT’s five-year budget plan!
The Illinois Department of Transportation has begun Phase 1 (Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Study) of the U. S. Route 30 reconstruction project through Morrison. As part of this Phase, a Public Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., at the Community Room, Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street.
The public is invited to attend the “Open House” style meeting, review plans, and speak with representatives from IDOT and the City of Morrison. Please check the City of Morrison website for updates as this project progresses.
