What is the chance you would be photographed in a group doing this? After hearing a program by Chuck and Sally Finley, you might feel your adrenaline flowing. The Finleys are wearing red suits in the center. This formation is from the 16-Way Competition Dive Pool.
The Whiteside Forum will host the couple on Thursday, January 24, 2019, in the Program Room of the Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, in Morrison, IL, starting at 6:30 p.m. They are expert sky divers who participate in formation sky diving competitions in the United States and around the world. Watch their video and listen as they tell us about their sport.
“We both started skydiving in the mid-80’s. We each make between 200 and 300 jumps per year. We each hold multiple State and World records and have both earned medals in National Championship competitions. We each have in the neighborhood of 6000 jumps. Besides jumping all over the U. S., we’ve made jumps in Mexico, Italy, Thailand, and China. We also enjoy indoor skydiving in many of the indoor wind tunnels around the Country.”
Here is a heads-up for next month’s Whiteside Forum presentation on Thursday, February 28, 2019. We will hold a book discussion on American Nations: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures of North America, by Colin Woodard. This will naturally lead in to a discussion on how and why there is such a large political divide in our Country today.
Mark your calendar, read the book (not essential but helpful), and join the forum.
