Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias and Raven A. DeVaughn, Director of Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS), unveiled the Secretary of State Flagship Center on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in the Chicago, IL, Loop. The location is 125 W. Monroe Street.
A ribbon cutting launched this new, state-of-the-art, two-story Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), featuring multiple agency services under one roof for the first time. It will showcases modernization initiatives with cross-trained employees, to offer drivers and vehicle services from a single counter. All in one location are
• an on-site Fast-Lane kiosk
• an extensive list of services from the office’s Departments: Business, Index, Personnel, and Administrative Hearings
• Reinstatement.
At 24,000 square feet, the center is nearly five times the size of the office s Chicago Central DMV at 160 N. LaSalle Street, which has officially closed. It often experienced long lines and wait times, because of its small size. With the larger footprint, the new center will more efficiently provide DMV services, while also offering other agency services not available at the Central facility.
