Come out. Get active. Promote. Enjoy our beautiful waterways.
Rock River Development Authority (RRDA), in conjunction with Illinois Department of Natural Resources, promotes family togetherness and tourism, through servicing our scenic Rock River and Hennepin Feeder Canal.
Join us for the Annual Canal Clean-up on Saturday, April 14, 2018, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, April 15, at the same time. Meet other volunteers at Days Inn, 2105 First Avenue, Rock Falls, IL.
Register by calling 815-590-6404. This helps move the clean-up along. We can designate you or your party a particular section of the canal, based on your needs and experience.
Come alone, with family, or with friends and co-workers. There is a spot for everyone to beautify. We will clean among the trees, so wear old shoes or boots and protective clothing. After clean-up, we will gather behind the Days Inn for snacks, event t-shirts, raffles, and photographs. We hope you will join us.
The feeder canal runs through Rock Falls, connecting two of our largest parks. It provides over 29 miles of pathway for walking, running, hiking, biking, and snowmobiling. The path is open for use throughout the year.
The Rock River feeder canal also provides great fishing, kayaking, canoeing, bird watching, and beautiful native prairie grass sites. It is such an ideal place for photographers or those who wish to relax in the shade.
