Robert V. Vandermyde, 80, of Morrison, IL, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Bob was born September 28, 1945, in Morrison, to Vernon (Bill) and Gladys (Dykstra) Vandermyde.  He was educated in Morrison grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School in 1963.  On December 10, 1965, he married Carolyn Hamstra in Morrison.  Following high school, Bob began hauling gas for FS to local farmers.  From there he was employed with General Electric in Morrison.  Eventually he entered the trucking industry and drove for multiple companies, ending his career in 2002 with Consolidated Freightways located LaSalle/Peru, IL.  Bob was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Reformed Church where he served as Deacon and Elder, volunteered in the church food pantry, and assisted with church maintenance.  Bob enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, watching NASCAR and IHRA and his favorite Green Bay Packers, and mowing his five acres on his John Deere and Cub Cadet.

Survivors include his son, Lain Vandermyde of Morrison; daughters, Kimberly (Brent) Nistler of Wauwatosa, WI, and Kelly (Dale Gibler) Vandermyde of Fenton, IL; granddaughter, Clarie Nistler of Chicago, IL; sister, Judy (Dave) Vanderbleek of Moline, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A Memorial Visitation will take place from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, IL, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Ken Renkes.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be no Interment.
