Richard K. Johannsen, age 70, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his home.
Rick was born April 4, 1955 the son of Eugene and Barbara (Lilly) Johannsen. He graduated from Sauk Valley Community College and later married Sally Damhoff on October 21, 1989, in Morrison. Rick was employed at several businesses during his lifetime including Ethan Allen in Morrison, Illinois Forge in Rock Falls, IL, Quebecor in Mt. Morris, IL, and UPM Raflatac in Dixon, IL. In his younger years, he enjoyed participating in Basketball and Baseball recreational leagues.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Johannsen of Morrison; sons, Jeffrey Johannsen of Clackamas, OR, and Scott Johannsen of Rock Falls; isters, Sandy Frey of Largo, FL, and Sue (Mark) Nelson of Terre Haute, IN; brother, Steve (Janice) Johannsen of Pasadena, CA; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Doug Frey; several other brothers-in-law; sister-in-law.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to Noon, at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, IL.
The Funeral will follow at Noon, with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating.
A memorial has been established.
