Philip “Phil” W. Bramm, 76, of Morrison, IL, died peacefully on Tuesday May 12, 2026, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA, with his wife and daughters by his side.

Phil was born September 13, 1949, in Morrison, to Myril E. and Marian E. (Gross) Bramm. He was educated in Morrison grade schools and was a 1967 graduate of Newman Catholic High School. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during his military service. On November 6, 1971, he married Irene L. Ayres at St. Mary Catholic Church in Morrison. Phil first worked at General Electric in Morrison before beginning a career as a union carpenter for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, working in the Naperville, IL, and Quad Cities areas. He was a dedicated member of Rock Island Local #166, often serving as the Foreman or Construction Superintendent. He took great pride in his work and craftsmanship. Phil was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he was also active in the Knights of Columbus and served as Treasurer. He was a dedicated member of the Morrison American Legion Post #328 for 43 years. Phil enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing, and he especially treasured time spent with family and friends. His greatest happiness came from being with his children and grandchildren, attending their activities and making memories together.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; daughters, Amanda (JB) Goff of Downs, IL, Elizabeth Giller of Downs, Kathryn (Matt) Kooi of Woodridge, IL, and Jennifer (William) Patton of Morrison; nine grandchildren, Alaina, Jacey, Brody and Demry Goff, Levi Giller, Isaac and Sophia Kooi and Jovie and Halen Patton; sisters, Janet Medendorp and Christine (Larry) DeWitte both of Morrison; brothers, Roger Bramm of Anaheim, CA, George Bramm and Joe (Chris) Bramm both of Morrison; sister-in-law, Karen Bramm of Lyndon, IL; brother-in-law, Richard Ayres of Morrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David M. Bramm; sisters-in-law, Janice Ayres and June Bramm; brother-in-law, Vernon Medendorp.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, followed by the Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday May 19, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Morrison, with Rev. Father Slawomir Zimodro officiating.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established to St. Mary Catholic Church.
