The Digit-ILL team from Western Illinois University will host a free, Online Health Literacy training session, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL. Registration is not required, and the program is open to all.

The session aims to help community members understand how technology can serve better health management. To improve healthcare outcomes, during this training participants will learn to:
• locate and navigate credible online health resources
• use personal health records (PHRs) to organize their medical information.
Access to reliable online health information can be empowering. It enables individuals to research conditions, connect with support groups, and–when needed–interact anonymously with healthcare professionals. These benefits can be especially valuable for people who face stigma, or feel uncomfortable seeking support in person.
Despite these advantages, many at-risk populations still face barriers to digital health information, including advanced age, socioeconomic challenges, literacy limitations, geographic isolation, and cultural factors. The Digit-ILL Online Health Literacy Campaign was created to address these disparities and to expand access to essential digital resources.
Digit-ILL is part of the READY Broadband Program, a Statewide initiative in Illinois focused on promoting digital equity for all residents.
