If you are sheltering in place today, Friday, January 23, 2026, due to dangerous cold temperatures, consider making a pie.  So many food options can become the filling of one-or-two layers of dough.  Try toasting naan or pita bread as an open, hand-held crust.

Combine something savory:  eggs, meat, diced vegetables, cooked potatoes, chili, avocado, cheese, herbs.

Sweet, fruity pies are always enjoyable, but consider adding something special to the filling:  bits of granola; tiny chocolate chips; coconut; assorted berries.

Cream pies offer smooth textures, but they also can be amended with granola, granola; tiny chips; coconut; small berries, thin sliced banana.

Canned prepared pumpkin pie filling is delightfully easy.
