Mark your calendar for Mother’s Day weekend and join Morrison Schools in celebrating the Arts!
Morrison Schools would like to invite the public to attend our Fine Arts weekend. The annual Spring into the Arts Exhibit, sponsored in part by the Children’s Art Preservation Association (CAPA), will take place Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 13, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Morrison art teachers Stasha Hayes, Jamie Harmon, and Tony Wright will present artwork representing kindergarten through twelfth grade students. The exhibit will be on display at Morrison Junior High located at 300 Academic Drive, Morrison, IL. Community members are invited to view and vote for their favorite 2D art pieces and participate in an interactive art project.
Southside students will join the event with special music performances on Saturday, under the direction of music teacher, Samantha Scholl. Musical performances are scheduled from 10:15 a.m. through 2:15 p.m. on Saturday at Morrison Junior High. All events at the Junior High will be free admission.
For those who would like even more of the arts in their life, Morrison High School will be presenting “TARZAN the Musical” the same weekend. Evening performances will be on Friday, May 11, and Saturday, May 12, at 7:00 p.m. On Sunday, May 13, there will be a 2:00 p.m. matinee. “TARZAN the Musical” performances will be located at Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison. Admission is $8, and tickets can be purchased at the door or on their website.
