Lyle Dean Smith, 82, of Thomson, IL, died on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, IL.
Lyle was born October 27, 1942, in Mt. Carroll, IL, the son of Hobert and Thelma (Fulton) Smith. He previously worked as a Mechanic at Spencer’s Automotive. Lyle loved attending NASCAR races.
Survivors include his spouse, Connie Heusinkveld, of Thomson; daughters, Amy Dodge, of Franklin Grove, IL, and Tiffany Smith, of Cedar Rapids, IA; sons, Jay Smith, of Sterling, and Lane Smith, of Rock Falls, IL; sister, Judith (Larry) Heath, of Morrison, IL; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Carol Myers and Diane Frankfother; brother, Gary Smith.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
