In reflection of the Illinois Bicentennial Celebration, John E. As a widely published author of various books and articles, Hallwas was also an instructor of English and historical/cultural classes at WIU for over 34 years.  Many of his published materials focus on themes surrounding self-realization, community, and belonging.  They truly reflect life in the Midwest through the past 200 years.  Professor Hallwas has won several awards as author and speaker, in reference to his wide range of published literature.  For more information on Hallwas, visit www.johnhallwas.jimdo.com.
