Leonard Edward “Ed” Ebersohl, age 90, died Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Morningside of Sterling, IL.

Ed was born on August 8, 1934, in DeSoto, IL, the son of Leonard and Faye (McCollum) Ebersohl.  He married Kathryn Crowell on November 17, 1956, in Murphysboro, IL.  Ed graduated college from the University of Illinois.

He was a Country Companies Insurance Agent and sold real estate for many years.  Eventually he owned and operated Ed Ebersohl Realty, before retiring in 2015.  Ed was Past President of Whiteside County Board of Realtors; Past President of Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce; Past President of Sterling/Rock Falls Historical Society; Volunteer for Whiteside County Farm Bureau Barn Tours.  Kathy and Ed both partnered in hosting International guests through the Rock River Valley International Fellowship Organization and hosted many International guests through the U. S. State Department.  Ed was a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling.

Survivors include his wife Kathryn of Sterling; daughter, Cheryl (Tim) Fassler of Sterling; son, Curtis (Roxane Wancket) Ebersohl of Morrison, IL; brother, Larry (Margaret) Ebersohl of Rock Falls, IL; four grandchildren, Justin (Amber) Ebersohl, Jason (Amor) Ebersohl, Allison (Mitch) Kavanagh, and Michael (Annie) Fassler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob; sister, Mary Ellen.

Following Ed’s wishes, he has donated his body to University of Illinois Medical School.
