ShawverParty

Two indispensible and dedicated employees of Shawver Press were feted at an Open House on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the Whiteside News Sentinel office, 100 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL.  The building houses Shawver Press.  MaryEllen Brackemyer has been employed 40 years.  Steve Siefken began work 50 years ago, as soon as he completed Morrison High School.

From 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the public filed into the newspaper lobby to converse, reminisce, and celebrate the pair’s strong work ethic.   Shown left-to-right are Ruth Reed, Al and Cookee Shawver, Robert Wiebenga, Brackemyer, and Siefken.

Together Bracekmyer and Siefken have designed and printed high-quality newspapers, stationery, books, photographs, labels, signs, business cards, wedding items, and promotional materials of a wide variety.  Their work is visible all around us.
