The Morrison City Council met in Regular Session on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Morrison Community Room, 307 South Madison Street, Morrison, Illinois. The meeting was called to order by Kevin Bruckner Jr. at 6:30 p.m. City Clerk Mike Hemmer recorded the minutes. Meeting was offered to the public via Zoom and video recording to be available at https://www.youtube.com/@CityofMorrisonIL.
City Administrator, Brain Melton, noted that Knox Street is now open as the hospital improvements near completion. He also related the Utility Billing changes currently being implemented and that no July delinquent fees will be assessed as the new system completes implementation.
The Council approved Ordinance 26-09 AMENDING AND REPLACING THE MORRISON MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 12 BUSINESS REGULATION WITH THE ADDITION OF BUSINESS LICENSING by a vote of 6 to 1.
The Council agreed unanimously to dispose of a 2020 Dodge Durango previously declared as not useful to the city.
The Council finds that the preparation, printing, handling, and mailing of paper utility billing statements results in administrative and material costs that can be reduced with electronic billing technology. With this finding , discussion followed regarding the establishment of of a utility billing statement for waster and wastewater fees. No action was taken with future discussion to follow at City Council meetings.
Property (+/-.383 acres) owned by the trust of Cecil and Delores Stralow will be transferred to the City of Morrison following the payment of the 2025 taxes of the current owner’s estate and 75% of the snow removal cost for 2025-2026 season.
The Morrison City Council adjourned following considerable discussion related to a Municipal Electric Aggregation Agreement that will surface again in future meetings.
