These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On 6/5/19 at 5:39 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of U. S. Route 30 and Illinois Route 78.  Upon further investigation, Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on U. S. Route 30 when it was distracted from inside the vehicle and struck the rear end of Unit 2, as it was attempting to make a left hand turn onto IL Route 78.  Unit 1 driver Austin D. Brands, age 22 of Morrison, IL, and Unit 2 driver, Michael Dixon, age 21 of Fulton, IL, were both examined by EMT’s and released. Austin was cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, and he was released with a future court date.  Assisting on scene was Morrison Police Department, Morrison Fire Department, Morrison Community Hospital Ambulance and Hunter Towing.

On 6-05-19 at 11:12 p.m., Margaret M. Kelly, age 20 of Tampico, IL, was stopped for speeding on IL Route 40 near Deer Grove, IL.  She was cited for Speeding 74/55 MPH and arrested for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (30 grams to 100 grams).  She was processed at the Sterling Police Department and released on bond.  Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.
