In June 2025, Morrison Chamber of Commerce shone the Business Spotlight on Morrison Community Day Care Center.
Founded in 1972 by a group of dedicated women from First Presbyterian Church, Morrison Community Day Care Center (MCDCC) was created to address a growing need among working families in the community. What began as a small program for children ages 2-to–5 has evolved into a vital resource for local families, offering care from infancy through school-age programs.
In 2010, MCDCC expanded to include an infant room, ensuring that even the youngest members of our community receive quality care in a nurturing environment. The After School Club and the Summer Kids Club, based at Northside Gym, continues to grow, providing a safe space for older children during the after-school hours.
MCDCC proudly partners with organizations like United Way, 4C, LSSI, and DCFS to support local families, including those facing unique or challenging circumstances. Whether it is donating to local causes or stepping in to help foster children find a safe, loving space, our commitment to the community is strong and ongoing.
At MCDCC, generations of families have passed through their doors—and in some cases, returned to serve. One of the current teachers was once a daycare child there, and many of the staff’s children and grandchildren have been part of the program. With a veteran staff that treats every child like their own, the center is a second home for many. The bonds they build there last well beyond childhood.
The love is generational—former daycare kids have come full circle, joining us as educators and mentors for today’s children. Morrison Community Day Care Center remains as vital today as it was in 1972–if not more. The staff is proud to continue serving Morrison with compassion and commitment.
