The Wednesday, July 20, 2022, meeting of the River Bend School Board featured updates on the summer construction and maintenance projects and the budget projection for 2022-23.

Summer projects were highlighted by the new, main entrance renovation and the addition of door closures and camera work. President Dan Portz stressed his concerns created by the National attention given to school violence. He challenged the Board to be diligent in all actions regarding the security and procedures they take, regarding the protection of the River Bend students and faculty.

Superintendent Daryl Hogue reviewed the 2022-23 budget. He noted the revenues were 110% of the budget, and expenses were 106%, creating a year-end difference of $913,318.69.

Various action items were approved:
• New guidelines for Physical Restraint, Time Out, and Isolated Time Out Reduction Plan
• Substitute teachers pay increased from $95 per day to $105 per day
• Fuel bid from Gold Star FS
• Life Health Surety bond
• Declaring 100 HP G5 EE Chromebooks and 85 Chromebooks as surplus goods.
• Accepted gifts to the District: ($500) River Bend Athletic Boosters for Middle School State Track; ($427.23) graduation stoles; ($675.80) playoff patches; ($9500) HUDL; Whiteside Soil and Water Conservation ($1063.96).
