James A. Damhoff, Jr., 82, of Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison, IL, formerly of Albany, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at MercyOne in Clinton, IA.

Jim was born on July 23, 1943, in Clinton, IA, to James A., Sr. and Carole D. (Ziegler) Damhoff. He was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and graduated from Fulton High School. Jim earned his Associate Degree from Clinton Community College in Clinton. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. On October 28, 1967, he married Mary E. Dornbush in Albany. Jim was employed at Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL, for over 40 years before retiring in 2003. Following retirement, Jim enjoyed working at Fulton Meat Market. He was a member of Fulton American Legion Post #402, where he served as Past Post Commander, and was a member of Albany Methodist Church. An outdoorsman at heart, Jim enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, and boating on the Mississippi River with his family. He was also an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughters, Tanya (Randy) Huizenga of Fulton, Tara (John Brandeis) Damhoff of Lakewood, CO, and Torrie Zambon of Pewaukee, WI; two grandchildren, Kendall and Charlie Zambon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
There will be a Celebration of Life from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at King Pins in Fulton, IL.
The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A memorial has been established to the Albany, IL, Ambulance Service and Fire Department.
