The American Legion building, 306 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, hosted a gathering of Brearton family, former and current Morrison Fire Department “brothers,” community members, and Legionnaires, to honor one of its members: Jack Brearton. He celebrated his 90th birthday on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The celebration was from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Brearton is shown in the plaid shirt.
Jack Brearton was Morrison-born in 1936, but raised in Carroll County. He graduated from York Township High School. He resides at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison. Son Jerry stated his father “uses a walker, but his health and memory are top notch!”
