Iola “Joyce” Snyder, age 95, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Friday, February 7, 2025, at Bickford Nursing Home in Clinton, IL.
Joyce was born on December 30, 1929, in Fenton, IL, the daughter of Clark and Stella (Barnhard) Nelson. She married William Snyder on February 22, 1948, in Fenton. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2017. Joyce was employed at General Electric in Morrison, IL, for many years and helped her husband farm. She was a former member of Garden Plain Presbyterian Church. Joyce loved to cook and enjoyed quilting and ceramics. She loved her grandkids and liked to do family genealogy.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Snyder of Taylor Ridge; two sons, Rick (Sylvia) Snyder of Fulton and Randy (Amelia) Snyder of Albany; three sisters, Neva Baar of Fenton, Virginia (Tom) Scidmore and Esther Mohns both of Morrison; one brother, Danny (Linda) Nelson of Fenton; one sister-in-law, Faye Jamieson of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Dayle Snyder; daughter-in-law, Ilene Snyder; sister, Wanda Riggen.
Visitation is Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at McDonald Funeral Home, Fulton, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Ken Renkes officiating.
Burial will follow at Garden Plain Cemetery, Garden Plain, IL.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to The Glaucoma Foundation.
