Editor’s note: Removing grave flags goes quickly. Be sure to leave the flag holders in the ground.
American Legion Post #328 of Morrison, IL, encourages helpers to remove grave flags from military personnel. Volunteers will begin the task at 9:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 30, 2026, near the equipment buildings, at the bottom of the hill.
Jerry Brearton stated, “We WILL NOT PICK UP other flags (i.e. family, Fire Department, or other organizations.)”
“We WILL NOT PICK UP markers, because they stay there all year long.”
