Gloria Folkerts, 95, of Morrison, IL, formerly of La Grange, IL, died Monday, January 19, 2026, at her home.

Gloria was born October 19, 1930, in Cook County, IL, to Leonardo and Teresa (Tracogna) Cernet, who immigrated from Cannebola, Italy.  She was a graduate of a Nazareth Academy in La Grange.  Gloria married Albert W. Folkerts at St. Cletus Catholic Church in La Grange, and they shared many devoted years together, until his passing on November 4, 2003.  She dedicated 40 years of service at La Grange Memorial Hospital, before later owning and operating Al & Glor’s Tavern in Hodgkins, IL, alongside her husband.  In her later years, Gloria attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Morrison.  She enjoyed playing cards–especially Canasta–taking walks, and spending time visiting residents in local nursing homes, offering friendship and conversation.  Above all else, Gloria treasured time with her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to help care for them whenever she could.

Survivors include her sons, Robert (Carol) Folkerts of Morrison, Dennis (Janet) Folkerts of Wheatfield, IN, and Michael (Sherry) Folkerts of Bourbonnais, IL; four grandchildren, Carrie Folkerts, Kathy (Joe) Presley, and Karen Folkerts and Amanda Folkerts; one great-grandchild, Tanner Snodgrass; brother-in-law, Anthony Lovett of Brookfield, IL; sister-in-law, Dorothy Montgomery of Ocala, FL; many nieces and nephews in the Chicago, IL, suburbs and Grand Blanc, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; daughter in infancy, Mary Folkerts; son, William John Folkerts; sisters, Jean Zito and Norma A. Lovett.

There will be no Visitation or Funeral Service.

A Graveside Service will be held at a later date.

The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
