Morrison Institute of Technology, 701 Portland Avenue, Morrison, IL, will host its First Biennial Sculpture Show. Titled “20 for 2025,” the show officially opens Saturday, September 20, 2025. Ten, new, large-scale sculptures have been added to the campus, joining ten current pieces. They will remain on display into 2026.
Sprinkled across the grounds, the complete exhibit is free to the public. There will be expanded “selfie” opportunities, but no one is allowed to mount the art pieces.
This shiny, curvilinear piece stands about 8ft tall; it resembles a tree–but it is an abstract piece. Viewers are free to see what they will, in its design. It is visually pleasing. A spotlight illuminates it, as does moonlight, said MIT President Chris Scott.

Morrison Curator Charles Yost commented, “The first Biennial Morrison Tech Sculpture Exhibit will reacquaint all viewers to the awareness, that a public sculpture display shows a Community’s artistic pride, acceptance, appreciation, and importance.”
After downtown Morrison’s Paint the Town winds down, there will be a 6:00 p.m. Opening Reception in the MIT Auditorium. Meet some of these Illinois professional Sculptors. Yost said, “Come to the Paint the Town’s street art event; stay around for the Sculptors’ Reception!”
Local Businesses and Organizations are encouraged to support the Arts in their community with a donation. Donations will defray costs of marketing, purchased concrete sculpture pads; artist stipends; reception food.
Donor names will be listed on all marketing and advertising, as Patrons of the “20 for 25 Sculpture Exhibit.” Make checks payable to “Morrison Tech;” write “Sculpture Show” on the memo line. Mail to Morrison Institute of Technology, 701 Portland Avenue, Morrison, IL, 61270.
