Editor’s note: The word Chevrolet is a French family surname–not a noun. Louis Chevrolet–a Swiss race car driver–is co-founder of the company.
On Friday, June 27, 2025, the Editor spotted this 1967 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck, parked outside TBK Bank, 211 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL. Local owner KC Milnes obliged the Editor’s curiosity. He purchased this half-ton, two-wheel drive 1967 truck six years ago. He drives the truck “to do errands.”
“I lowered it [the body] a little and rebuilt the motor and transmission. I [tried to] blend the old with the new as much as I could,” he noted.
This vintage truck had been used in Arizona. The paint suffered by fading from turquoise to blue. “The sun baked the paint” on the high points, Milnes explained.
Milnes goes to car shows and “exhibits the truck in Sterling and little car shows around here.”
A passenger, son Lucian, is visible. The 18-year-old will enter the military soon.
