Clinton Symphony Orchestra will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s poignant, final masterpiece, Requiem, on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The performance will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 439 Third Avenue S., Clinton, IA, 52732, at 7:30 p.m.
RiverChor Community Choir will perform. Also included is Mozart Divertimento in F.

Mozart was commissioned in 1791 by the Austrian Count Franz Von Walsegg as a tribute to the death of his young wife. Even while suffering from an undetermined illness, which would take Mozart’s life and rob him of seeing the completion of the Mass. After his death, his widow Constanze hired her husband’s understudy–Franz Xaver Sussmayr to complete the missing parts of the Requiem. The Mass was first performed on January 2, 1793, in a private concert for Mozart’s grieving wife.
Adult tickets are $20; all students are admitted free. In addition, a student may sponsor an adult to receive admission for half-price.
