Dorothy Ann Rosenow, 91, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, November 3, 2025, at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison.
Dorothy was born May 31, 1934, in Mt. Pleasant Township, IL, to William and Hilda (Conrady) Beswick. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1952 graduate of Morrison High School. On August 14, 1953, she married Donald L. Rosenow in Morrison. They shared their lives for over 30 years, before Don’s passing on December 20, 1983. Dorothy was first employed by General Electric and later kept the books for her husband’s business, Don’s Motor Service, in Morrison. She also drove a school bus for the Morrison School District and worked with the after-school program. She devoted much of her life to caring for her family and home. She was a member of Morrison Brethren in Christ Church. Dorothy was an avid bear collector, cherishing each one for its unique charm and the memories it represented. She also found pleasure in counted cross-stitch, creating beautiful handmade pieces.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah (Mitchell) Foreman of Sterling, IL, Denise (Terry) Temple of Fulton, IL and Deanne (Darren) Hilla of Morrison; seven grandchildren, Cameron Foreman, Lee (Nicole) Foreman, Korey (Anna) Foreman, Katie (Alex) French, Betsy (Matt) Robinson, Sammy (Erin) Biggs, and Brooke (Thomas) Bluhm; three step-grandchildren, Maddison, Anna, and DJ Hilla; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Marjorie Woodruff of Pisgah Forest, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; grandson, Dylan Biggs; brothers, Richard “Dick” (Grace) Beswick, Robert (Rita) Beswick, Herbert (Irene) Beswick, and William (Catherine) Beswick; brother-in-law, Sam Woodruff.
A Visitation was held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
The Funeral service followed at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Craig Sipes officiating.
Interment was in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established to Resthave Care & Rehabilitation.
