Daryl Eugene Schroeder, 59, of Tampico, IL, died Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.

Daryl was born September 14, 1966, in Clinton, IA, to LaVerne D. and Donna J. (Mitchell) Schroeder. He attended Morrison grade schools and was a 1984 graduate of Morrison High School. He received a Manufacturing and Technology degree from Sauk Valley Community College. Daryl married Michele L. Colyott on August 18, 2018, in Annawan, IL. He was the Lead Machinist at Starbuck Machinery in Fulton, IL. He was an avid bowler and was a member of the USBC Bowling Association. He enjoyed traveling and going to his grandchildren’s sporting events. Daryl was a die-hard Chicago and Fighting Illini sports fan.
Survivors include his wife Michele of Tampico; daughters, Kaylene Schroeder of Tampico and Anna Schroeder of Chicago, IL; stepchildren, Jessi (Philip) Wright of Tampico and Jamie (Jess) Sturtevant of Princeton, IL; eight grandchildren, Melanie Sue, Easton Wayne, and Waylon Daniel–Sawyer James, Carmen Judith, and Norrah Elizabeth–Connor James and Michael James; parents, LaVerne and Donna of Morrison; brother, Dwaine Schroeder of Morrison; niece and nephew, Lindsey and Brandon Schroeder; many aunts; former daughter-in-law, Noel Sturtevant; life-long friends, John Bland, Joe Klimson, Marc Manchester, and Steve Backhus; beloved dogs, Moose and CoCo.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Everett and Dorothy Schroeder; maternal grandparents, Lyle and Anna Mitchell; many uncles.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday June 11, 2026, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
A memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Miner of River Church in Prophetstown, IL, officiating.
A memorial has been established by the family.
