Darlene H. Foster, 89, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, IL.

Darlene was born September 3, 1936, in Morrison, to Lloyd and Jennie (Sassen) Harvey. She was educated at the Green Valley Grade School in rural Union Grove Township and was a 1954 graduate of Morrison High School. On October 25, 1958, she married Donald F. Foster in Morrison, and they shared 63 years of marriage, before his passing on November 4, 2021. Darlene worked for several area companies as a Secretary for many years. Her true passion was raising her children and ensuring her family was taken care of at home. She was a devoted member of Morrison United Methodist Church, where she faithfully served as Church Secretary for 25 years. She was also active in the Whiteside County Home Extension and was involved in both PEO and Wa Tan Ye for many years. A three-time cancer survivor, Darlene had a special place in her heart for supporting Relay For Life and encouraging others facing similar battles. She enjoyed gardening, going for walks, and especially watching the sunset–her favorite time of day.
Survivors include her sons, Craig Foster of Villa Park, IL, and Steve Foster of Morrison; three grandchildren, Rachel (Josh Buono) Foster, Sarah Foster, and Erin Foster; one great-granddaughter, Sidney Foster-Buono.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; brothers, Ray, Don, and Dale Harvey.
Plans for a Visitation and Funeral service are pending.
