The Local Street Project for 2023 started today on South Cherry Street. This
year’s local street project includes South Cherry Street, North Jackson Street (RR Tracks to
East Knox Street) and North Heaton Street (RR Tracks to Lincolnway). As part of this
project, some curbing and inlets will be repaired, and intersection sidewalk approaches will be
reconstructed, and the road surface will be milled and overlaid with new asphalt.
Please be aware that there will be temporary and daily road closures throughout portions of
these streets as the project progresses.
The project was awarded to Martin & Company, Oregon, Illinois.
The City of Morrison utilized the engineering services of Willett Hofmann & Associates,
Dixon, Illinois.
The project is being funded by Rebuild Illinois Funds, Motor Fuel Tax Funds, and Local
1% Sales Tax Funds at a cost of $379,381.58.
The projected completion date is November 1, 2023.
