The Morrison City Council convened on Monday, April 13, 2026, with all members in attendance and a full house of visitors.
In opening action, the Council acted as follows.
- Offered a “Special Use Permit” to Brian Jimenez for the property previously reserved for the Country Club activities (area west of Morris Street, and along Oak Street to the intersection of West Park.)
- Building permit to Timothy and Teresa Stout for new construction at 206 W. Winfield Street.
- Building permit to Whiteside County Central Agriculture Society for new construction of facilities at the Whiteside County Fairgrounds.
- New “Whiteside County Fairgrounds” signage to be placed at the fairgrounds entrances.
- Ordinances amending various changes related to nuisances, collection bins, swimming pools, tree houses, building code matters, and updating residential codes.
- Authorization for the City Administrator to amend figures for the 2027 fiscal year budget, commencing the first day of May 2026.
The 2027 Fiscal Year Budget was offered for review by the community. It will be presented to the City Council for final approval at the next City Council meeting, Monday, April 27.
