September 17, 2020, was the 233rd anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America, by the Constitutional Convention in 1787. Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year, by the President of the United States of America, designating September 17 through 23 as Constitution Week.
On Saturday, September 19, 2020, 17 members and/or visitors of Carroll Jo Daviess DAR attended an outdoor meeting at Lanark City Park. Carroll Jo Daviess DAR has 69 members. Three prospective members are in the process of completing paperwork, to validate their lineage from a person who gave aid, or fought, during the Revolutionary War.
The women witnessed the signing of the Constitution Week proclamation by Ken Viglietta, Mayor of Lanark, IL. He reported on the City’s infrastructure improvements and renewed industry development with Elkay.
