On Tuesday evening, July 22, 2025, Brent’s Firehouse Coffee, LLC owners Amy and Brent Brightman, of Camanche, IA,  awarded donations to Morrison Fire Department and Morrison Police Department, inside the Fire Station, 206 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL.  Their businesses fund a Public Safety Foundation that provides lifesaving equipment.

The Morrison drive-through or walk-in location is 301 W. Lincoln Way, across the street from the Post Office.  The couple owns four additional coffee/food/beverage shops in Iowa:  Bettendorf, Camanche, Clinton, and DeWitt.  They began the bi-State enterprises on Brent’s birthday, July 12, 2019.  Their 4 Alarm Coffee Co., LLC is a companion roasting business.

“All menus are pretty much the same, [with] nearly the same products and prices.  At the end of the year, any location which makes a net profit, will get a percentage of the net profit.  We’ll have a meeting [to decide how the money will be used.]  Morrison reached that goal for the first time this year,” along with three other stores.  These awards began in 2020.

In 1989, directly out of Chadwick, IL, High School, Brightman became a volunteer Firefighter.  He has been a volunteer Fireman in Camanche since 1995.  Brent explained he works full time–managing both businesses–to raise money for nonprofits.  “We’re very blessed” to be able to do this.

Amy is a Physical Therapist at Rock Valley Physical Therapy in Camanche.  Each week she roasts 175 pounds of Four Alarm Coffee beans for the five locations.  Additionally, she roasts beans to sell in the shops and takes orders from the public.

Today there are 30 employees.  Daughter Alyssa and Brent’s sister, Brenda, are Managers.

This is our third year at the [Whiteside County] Fair,” stated Brent.  Locate them inside “a big, beautiful, black trailer, by Gate 2 near the Brown Building.”
