Morrison High School Senior Austin Boonstra signed a Letter of Intention, to attend Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL, and participate in their Football program. The Wednesday, March 6, 2025, signing ceremony was held in the MHS gymnasium. Austin was joined by his mother, Jen Boonstra; brother Zayden and sister Zayley; grandparents Jim and Connie Boonstra; grandmother, Vicki Hanson.
Prior to his signing the Letter of Intention, Athletic Director Gregg Dolan congratulated Austin in front of a student gathering. He noted Boonstra will be the fourth former Mustang on the gridiron this fall. When asked what he is looking forward to, Boonstra replied, “Playing with my other teammates, as a Defensive Lineman.”
Austin began the path to this momentous event 11 years ago, with the Morrison NIYTF program (Northern Illinois Youth Tackle Football.) Boys and girls ages 6-through-10 are eligible.
He plans to study Business Administration.
