Bitterly cold conditions will continue tonight and again Saturday night, with wind chills between -20 to -30 degrees anticipated. A Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect for tonight through noon Saturday; another advisory is likely for Saturday night/Sunday morning.

We continue to keep an eye on a warmer system to move through Monday, [January22,] bringing the threat of a wintry mix to the area, including freezing rain. Exact amounts of icing remain uncertain, but the areas most likely to see ice of 0.01″ or more are for west-central and northwestern Illinois.

“While temperatures improve Sunday/Sunday night, expect gusty southerly winds, with gusts between 20-to-35 miles per hour.
