Betty Marie Reinders, age 87 of Dixon, IL, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at home with family.
Betty was born on November 7, 1926, in Brookeville, IL, to John and Lillian (Martz) Buntjer. She married Wilbur Reinders on April 18, 1943, in Polo, IL. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2007. Betty was an author of children’s books.
Survivors include four daughters, Michelle (Vernon) VanDyke of Morrison, IL, Cindy (Ken) Nelson of Milan, IL, Kathleen (David) Harvey of Dixon, and Becky (Greg) Weir of Tumbling Shoals, AR; two brothers, John (Shirley) Buntjer of Lyndon, IL, and Lee (Linda) Buntjer of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Carson; two grandsons, Christopher and Michael; one sister, Margie.
There are no services.
Cremation rites have been accorded with the McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory.
A memorial has been established.
