Betty Jean Mapson, age 95, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at LaBella of Morrison.
Betty was born May 12, 1930, in Postville, IA, the daughter of Carl and Verla (Schara) Strien. She married Eugene R. Mapson on February 27, 1948, in Prairie Du Chien, WI. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2006. Betty retired from GE in Morrison, loved to play slot machines, bake pies, and go to church. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church-ELCA in Sterling, IL.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Mapson and Marty Mapson; daughter, Susan Bertolozzi; many generations of grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Steven Mapson in 1991.
Per her request, there are no services.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
