Barbara Anne Leech, 76, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, August 18, 2025, at her home in Morrison.
Barb was born November 12, 1948, in Norwich, CT, to William J. and Louise Marie (Payette) Baran. She attended Norwich Free Academy High School and then went to Bay Path Junior College in Longmeadow, MA, where she received her Associate’s Degree. On May 16, 1970, she married Keith L. Leech in Norwich. Barb had worked in the Legal Office at the U. S. Submarine Base in Groton, CT. After the Leech family relocated to Morrison, she worked as a Recess Monitor while the children were young. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She liked to travel and had gone on several YEAH group trips with Emmanuel Church. Barb loved her cats, and she enjoyed spending her free time with her kids and grandkids.
Survivors include her husband, Keith; daughters, Christine (Todd) Schlegel of Morrison, and Jennifer (Edward) Novak of Yorkville, IL; five grandchildren, Madison (Andrew) Ferlauto, Lauren (Joseph) Eads, Jacob (Bree) Schlegel; Allison and Sarah Novak; one great-grandson, Jackson Eads; sister, Elizabeth (Dwight) Hopkins of Connecticut.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with the Funeral Service starting at 3:00. The Pastor of Emmanuel Church in Morrison, Rev. Luke Schouten, will officiate.
Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established to the Sarcoma Foundation of America – SFA.
