On Monday, August 25, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., Morrison City Council convened with a Public Comment of welcoming from Senator Liandro “Li” Arellano. Senator Arellano introduced himself and invited the Community to utilize his position as needed, to assist the growth of Morrison. Senator Arellano is a former Mayor of Dixon, IL, and relates strongly to small town needs. He represents the 37th District of the State of Illinois Legislature.
Bob Smith addressed the Council with words of appreciation from the Morrison Area Development Corporation (MADC), for the continued cooperation and financial support.
The Consent Agenda was approved which included Bills Payable of $566,100.08, but a current Treasurer’s Report was not available.
The following Action Items were unanimously approved as presented.
• Final payment for the sewer lining project of $395,159.40.
• Pay request for painting of PW building exterior of $14,971.
• Final Transfer $500,000 from Illinois Funds to TBK Bank to establish an Intrafi Account.
• Final Accept the proposal from Keystone Solar authorizing the Solar Power purchase agreement offered to operate the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Replaces current ComEd agreement; 30-year agreement; Annual 1.5% rate increase starting at 6 cents per kilowatt hour.
• Final Donate $5000 to the Sauk Valley Community College Impact Program-–Mustang Challenge.
The Council meets in open forum on the second and fourth Monday of each month, in the City of Morrison Community Room, at Odell Public Library beginning at 6:30 pm.
