Whiteside County Health Department’s Corey Law reported, “I have attached the weekly report looking at cases from Monday, July 27, through Sunday, August 2, 2020 as compared to the previous week and comparing those two weeks to the two weeks prior….The chart for Whiteside shows approximately a 125% increase in cases in the past two weeks when compared to the previous two weeks.  [There was] a substantial increase among individuals in their 50s, followed by those in their 40s.

“While we expected an increase in Phase 4, our increase is concerning.  We must all continue to work together to keep new infections down.  Please…wear a face covering, wash hands frequently, and maintain social distance.”

On Monday, July 3, Whiteside County Health Department announced four new laboratory-confirmed cases and one recovery of COVID-19 in Whiteside County.  The ages of these four cases are (3) under 20; (1) 50s.  The State of Illinois announced 1598 new cases and 23 additional deaths.

Total Positive cases in Whiteside County are 332; deaths total 16.  Total Positive cases in the State are 183,241; deaths equal 7526.
