Sterling-Rock Falls Historical Society will feature “A History of the Lincoln Highway,” at their meeting on Sunday, August 10, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The location is the Lincoln Learning Center, 611 E. Third Street, Sterling, IL. The public is invited to hear their program.
Kay and Ed Kozak will present the fascinating and important history of the Lincoln Highway, across the Continent and here in the state of Illinois. Their presentation covers important people and places along America’s first transcontinental highway, going from Times Square in New York City to Lincoln Park in San Francisco, just yards away from the Pacific Ocean. Spanning across America, the highway including the Illinois area towns of Sterling, Rock Falls, Morrison, and Fulton.
Kay has been the National Lincoln Highway Association President for the last 13 years, while Ed serves the NLHA as a Director-at-Large for the organization. He also gives local groups tours of the historic highway.
They are married and live in Bollingbrook, IL, in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, with two cats. Kay and Ed are pictured earlier this year in Grand Junction, IA, on the Lincoln Highway.
