The Eastland High School golf team accomplished something that only one other team has been able to do this golf season…beat Morrison.
The Lorrin Fassett Classic Tournament was held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Prairie Ridge Golf Course in Morrison. The tournament is played by two man teams (3/school) that play 6 holes alternating shots, 6 holes scramble and 6 holes best ball.
On a beautiful, but chilly September evening the Morrison Ponies traveled to Erie and came away with a strong defensive showing and a victory 30-6 over the Erie-Prophetstown Panthers.
The Morrison Mustangs journeyed to conference rival Erie-Prophetstown to be part of their Homecoming festivities and came away with a painful defeat as the Panthers rallied with twenty-one unanswered points to top the Mustangs 29-28.
