Wallace B. “Wally” Peterson, 96, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison.

Wally was born October 1, 1929, in Morrison, the son of Walter C. and Cora Geraldine (McCune) Peterson.  He was reared and educated in Morrison, attending Morrison Grade Schools and graduating from Morrison High School with the Class of 1948.  He proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corps.  On November 20, 1954, he was united in marriage to Joanne R. Bielema in Morrison.  Wally was employed for many years as a truck driver, working for Medenblik’s, Bull Produce, E. H. Stralow, Robert Smith, and Larry Lievens Trucking.  He was a member of Morrison Christian Reformed Church and was currently a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church.  In his free time, Wally enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Peterson; daughters, Paula (Ron Williams) Jansma and Lori Peterson both of Morrison; sons, Jerry (Barbara) Peterson of Morrison and Terry (Teresa) Peterson of Clinton, IA; three grandchildren, Rachel (Logan) Dorpinghaus, Courtney Jansma, and Brandon Jansma; five great-grandchildren, Chad Jansma, Jayden Jansma, Michael Thornton, Salem Dorpinghaus, and Beckham Dorpinghaus; sister, Barbara Shivel of Lawrence, KS.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Jo Peterson and sister, Shirley Berry.

There will be no Visitation.

A private Funeral Service will be held at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. T. Bean, Pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church, officiating.

Interment will take place at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.

A memorial has been established to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
