Wendy Lynn Scott, 69 of Prophetstown, IL, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL.
Wendy was born on March 24, 1956, in Sterling, IL, the daughter of George and Norma (Tucker) Dissinger. She married Garry Scott on October 27, 1979, in Sterling. Wendy received her Nursing Degree from Sauk Valley Community College and then began her Nursing career at KSB Hospital in Dixon, IL, in Pediatrics. She went to work for Dr. Shah at his office in Rock Falls, IL, then moved to work with him at CGH Clinic in Tampico, IL, until her retirement. Wendy enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard, being in her pool or on the river, and being with her dog.
Survivors include her husband, Garry; sister, Susy (Larry) Bellini of Sterling; brother, James (Judy) Dissinger of Morrison; daughter-in-law, Jessica Scott of Dalzell, IL; three grandchildren, Drake (Allison) Scott, Quintin Scott, and Madison Scott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norma Hammelman and George Dissinger; son, Jason Lee Scott.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown, IL.
A Memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will conclude at Lyndon Cemetery, Lyndon, IL.
Memorials may be made in her memory to Happy Tails Animal Shelter in Rock Falls, IL.
