Bonita “Bonnie” Jean Tegeler, 78, of Fulton, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at The Alverno in Clinton, IA.

Bonnie was born July 18, 1947, in Clinton, IA, to Wilbert “Bill” and Evelyn (Renkes) Wilkens.  She attended Newton and Garden Plain schools and graduated from Fulton High School.  On October 14, 1966, she married Donald Ray Tegeler, at Newton Zion Reformed Church in Erie, IL.  In her younger years, Bonnie worked as a Nurse’s Aide in Pediatrics at Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton.  She later devoted her time to raising her family and also cared for children in her home.  She was a member of Newton Zion Reformed Church.  Bonnie could often be found with a cross stitch project in her hands or a good book close by.  She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; daughter, Donna Holesinger of Fulton; sons, Keith (Ruby Jean) Tegeler of Fulton, Russell (Tami) Tegeler of Morrison, IL, Douglas Tegeler of Morrison, and Matthew (Kayla) Tegeler of Fenton, IL; 15 grandchildren, Dustin Holesinger, Devin (Sarah) Holesinger, Dayne Holesinger, Jamie (Rob) Randall, Joe (Michelle) VanderEide, Brian (Felicia) Tegeler, Lyndsey Tegeler, Mary Tegeler, Shawn Tegeler, Allison Tegeler, Jonathan Tegeler, Addison Horton, Jackson Tegeler, Zoey Horton, and Opie Tegeler; six great-grandchildren; mother, Evelyn Wilkens of Morrison; sisters, Eileen (Keith) Holesinger of Fulton, and Linda Dykstra of Thomson, IL.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbert “Bill” Wilkens, and brother-in-law, Richard Dykstra.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Newton Zion Reformed Church in Erie, IL, with Pastor Shannon Parrish officiating.

Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL.

Memorials have been established to Newton Zion Reformed Church, The Alverno, and Unity Christian School.
