See and touch the alpacas. Learn about these appealing animals, their fleece, yarn, and garments made from them. Soft, alpaca yarn and finished products will be for sale. Jan Larson stated payment may be with cash, check, credit card, or venmo app.
Shop ahead for warm, luxury fiber Christmas gifts: gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, socks, and boot liners. Treat yourself to a set of felted, alpaca “dryer balls” to gently fluff the laundry.
There will be a yarn spinner each day on the grounds. Weavers and crafters will find raw fleece, to spin at home. Needle workers will find skeins of natural yarn to transform. Alpaca fiber offers 22 neutral color choices.
Alpacas live for about two decades, providing continual amounts of precious fiber to be transformed. The Larsons sell fiber in the spring, and it goes to a mill for processing and spinning into yarn. They receive finished products to sell. Jan added, in the Andes Mountains, Bolivia, and Peru locals eat alpaca meat, too.
