Whiteside County State’s Attorney Colleen Buckwalter and City of Morrison Chief of Police Michael Moon announce that Ryan Hicks has been indicted by the United States Federal Court on the charge of Bank Robbery, stemming from events that occurred in Morrison, Illinois, on July 5, 2025.  On September 17, 2025, Mr. Hicks appeared in Federal Court in Rockford, IL, for a detention hearing.  Hicks has been detained on the pending Federal charge.

Based on the case proceeding in Federal Court, the Whiteside County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed Motions to Nolle Prosequi, which were granted, and the Whiteside County cases were dismissed.  Those cases included charges for Robbery; Theft by Threat; Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
